Sustainability and ESG in Credit Insurance
At ICISA, we are committed to proactively addressing the current and emerging challenges brought about by climate change, demographic shifts, and socio-economic dynamics, particularly within the context of evolving global political and jurisdictional landscapes.
Our members actively share general knowledge on key initiatives, such as advancing green energy projects. ICISA plays a pivotal role in supporting our network to navigate regulatory and policy transitions, while actively contributing to public discourse on how financial services can champion these critical changes.
Navigating the Regulatory Landscape
ICISA members recognize both the responsibilities and the opportunities presented by emerging sustainability policies and regulations. Our core objectives are to:
- Navigate Complexity: Help members understand and adapt to a rapidly shifting legal and regulatory environment.
- Amplify Industry Voice: Ensure our members’ perspectives are effectively represented in debates regarding the design and implementation of new laws.li>
- Foster Collaboration: Partner with like-minded associations to adapt to sustainability requirements and establish industry-wide best practices.
Advancing ESG and Data Transparency
We actively engage in discussions surrounding evolving capital requirements for insurers to ensure they accurately account for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, including climate risk. Our goal is to ensure our sector is appropriately represented and that future frameworks remain fit for purpose.
Furthermore, ICISA champions greater data transparency across the real economy. By advocating for increased availability of sustainability data from businesses, we aim to ensure that ESG risks can be accurately underwritten and effectively managed within portfolios.
