Fianzas y Cauciones Atlas, S.A. was founded in 1936, making it the oldest surety company in Mexico and the only one whose shareholders are direct descendants of its founder.

On November 16, 2018, the company changed its corporate name from Fianzas Atlas, S.A. to Fianzas y Cauciones Atlas, S.A., after receiving authorization from the Mexican Insurance Commissioner to operate as a Surety Insurance (Seguro de Caución) company, while continuing to provide its traditional surety bond products.

The company has long been recognized for its technical underwriting discipline, grounded in a rigorous assessment of its clients’ technical, financial, and moral solvency. This approach reflects its highly selective participation in the risks it underwrites.

Standard & Poor’s assigns Fianzas y Cauciones Atlas, S.A. a mxAAA rating, underscoring its financial strength and sound management. The company maintains strong strategic relationships with major surety and reinsurance institutions worldwide and is internationally acknowledged as a key player in Mexico for structuring bond programs for large-scale projects. Its international division has operated successfully since 1972.

Fianzas y Cauciones Atlas, S.A. operates across all surety lines and actively participates in the world’s leading surety associations, including ICISA, PASA, and SFAA.
