The International Credit Insurance & Surety Association (ICISA) is pleased to announce the Autumn 2026 edition of Credit & Surety Week, taking place online from 14–17 September 2026.
Following the success of previous editions, Credit & Surety Week brings together experts and stakeholders from across the credit and surety market to explore the issues, opportunities and developments shaping the industry. This year’s program features eight online sessions covering a broad range of topics, from innovative applications of credit and surety to B2B payment practices, ESG, underwriting, trade risks and opportunities for growth.
The week kicks off with a keynote by Shona Tatchell, Director of the Trade Facilitation Programme at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), on “Boosting Multilateral Development Bank mandates with insurance.” Ms. Tatchell will discuss the growing cooperation between Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and private insurers, how the relationship between insurers and the EBRD has developed, why this cooperation matters, and how further opportunities can be unlocked.
Highlights from the agenda include:
- Innovation in credit and surety – examining new approaches and innovative applications across the market.
- B2B payment practices – exploring developments in business-to-business payments and their implications for credit risk and the systems used to make trade safer and frictionless.
- ESG – beyond the “E”– discussing how social and governance considerations are shaping the credit and surety landscape.
- Trade risks – considering the evolving risks facing international trade and the tools available to businesses to manage them.
- Growth opportunities – exploring where new opportunities may emerge for the credit and surety market and how to take advantage of these opportunities.
- A masterclass in underwriting excess of loss policies to satisfy the growing market demand for this policy-type.
Credit & Surety Week is designed to bring together the wider credit and surety ecosystem, extending beyond (re)insurance underwriters and brokers to include corporates, banks, and other users and stakeholders.
The online format makes the event accessible to participants around the world and provides an opportunity for professionals to join individual sessions most relevant to their work, while also connecting with the wider discussions taking place across the market. Whether the focus is on development finance, innovation, payment practices, sustainability, underwriting or the changing risks of international trade, Credit & Surety Week 2026 offers a broad program of discussions and insights for anyone interested in the future of credit and surety.
Participation is free, fully online and open to the wider market. The full program, including session details, speakers and registration information, is available on the ICISA website: https://icisa.org/event/credit-surety-week-autumn-2026/
